Serving Oak Park

Oak Park, Illinois is a historic village just ten miles west of downtown Chicago. Offering a small-town vibe with easy access to big city life, Oak Park features family-friendly events and attractions, culture, fine dining, and outdoor recreation.

History buffs will appreciate Oak Park for its historic value. Once the home of Frank Lloyd Wright, Oak Park is home to some of the famous architect’s first buildings. The Nathan G. Moore House, Unity Temple, and Wright's former home and studio are among the many Wright buildings still preserved in the village. Today, the largest collection in the world of residential properties designed by Wright is in Oak Park.

Additionally, Oak Park is well-known as the birthplace of legendary author Ernest Hemmingway. Today, his childhood home is a museum open for visitors.

Oak Park also boasts a rich and diverse arts culture. The arts district on Harrison, bordered by Austin Avenue to the east and Ridgeland Avenue to the west, is seeing a revival of boutique shops and galleries, restaurants, and nightlife. Oak Park is also home to several professional dance and theatre companies, including Circle Theater, Oak Park Festival Theatre, and Momenta.

Oak Park is host to the Symphony of Oak Park and River Forest each year, and home of the Oak Park Art League (a nonprofit community-based visual arts center offering classes, workshops, lectures, demonstrations, and exhibitions). In addition, the local July 4th celebration draws thousands each year from neighboring communities.
