vs. 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport in Elmhurst, IL

Built with adventure in mind, there's no highway that the new 2024 Honda CR-V isn't willing to explore. Upgrade your commute with this innovative midsize SUV — everything from leg room to technology will receive a little boost. The Honda CR-V can seat five passengers and, when the rear seats are folded down, boasts 76.5 cubic feet of maximum cargo volume. That's enough space to easily fit your groceries, home improvement supplies, soccer gear and more. Love a touch of luxury? You're in luck — the Honda CR-V has optional leather-wrapped seats, ambient lighting and an available leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. While it may feel like a busy day of driving to and from work, the grocery store and soccer practice, all of that chaos can take a rest. Especially when you have the optional 10-way power driver's seat right where you want it. Experience the best of both worlds — style and function — when you make the new 2024 Honda CR-V yours.

The all-new 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport is a viable competitor to the new 2024 Honda CR-V. Let's take a closer look to see what this loudmouth is all about.

We're not impressed. Are you? The all-new 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport never had a chance against the new 2024 Honda CR-V, which is surprising considering its much higher starting MSRP.1,2 The Honda CR-V is the only one of the two that offers a hybrid powertrain: a 2.0-liter direct-injection Atkinson engine paired with an electric motor and e-CVT. Both SUVs offer all-wheel drive on higher trims, but we'd like to point out a major flaw in the power tailgate on the Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport. Its optional Hands-free Easy Open and Close remote power rear liftgate may sound fancy, but it lacks one thing: a programmable height setting. The Honda CR-V model's optional power tailgate can be configured to the driver's height, ensuring no discrimination against taller drivers (for example, the tailgate will open higher to prevent a head smack in the middle of a parking lot). And finally, the maximum cargo volume between the two SUVs is negligible, but there's a 4,000-mile difference between coverage in complimentary maintenance,3,4 which, for perspective, can equal a round-trip from coast to coast of the United States. We think we'll go with the new 2024 Honda CR-V.
