Right away, the starting MSRP of the two SUVs is vastly different — more than $6,300 separate them.1,2 If you want an affordable vehicle upgrade, don't purchase the new 2023 Ford Edge over the all-new 2023 Honda CR-V. Is fuel efficiency important to you, too? Same story — the Honda CR-V has a more efficient EPA-estimated combined mpg, clocking in at 30.3 The Ford Edge, on the other hand, only produces an EPA-estimated 23 mpg combined.4 And as if those two reasons aren't enough to choose the Honda CR-V, there's more. A power moonroof, heated front seats and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow are all standard on the base model of the Honda CR-V; a power tailgate with programmable height is available on higher trims. The Ford Edge, however, forces drivers to purchase more expensive trims to get all three features listed earlier, and if you want an optional power tailgate, it won't have the programmable height feature like that of the Honda CR-V.
